The Wallace Collection, or Hereford House, is an example of one of London’s finest buildings with an incredible approach and grand façade. The location is really amazing and such a hidden gem so few know about. Minutes from Bond Street station, just behind Selfridges and also only 15 minutes’ walk from Marylebone, it’s such a central spot to be located within. The venue is a great mix of traditional and more modern spaces. On arrival you are greeted with a grand staircase which leads to the UpperGalleries. These galleries are gorgeously traditional with flocked wallpaper and ornate furniture. Each room has a strong colour theme which can be really played into – one room is green, one purple, one red – such a mix and an unexpected surprise with each space. Taking the whole floor allows guests to explore around the rooms which work in a clockwise loop. The Marie Antoinette room as it has become to be known, is filled with furniture from her former house and also the wonderful Rococo masterpiece by Frangonard, The Swing.
Downstairs, the rooms lead out to the Courtyard, a large space with a glazed ceiling. The walls are painted in a salmon pink which feels so unexpected and fun. With the courtyard now being fully glazed, it really is the perfect British weather venue. The space can hold up to 160 guests or receptions for 300. Within this space you can have large bands, a DJ and dancing making it perfect for parties, weddings and brand events. The venue has a regular exhibition which is a brilliant addition to a corporate or brand event. The subjects of the exhibitions change throughout the year but can be quirky and more modern with a focus on the arts, fashion and furniture. Within the venue you can use a range of suppliers meaning that we can pair the perfect caterer, florist and entertainment to your event. Whilst the get in time is tight and the venue only available for evening hire, the gardens opposite, Manchester Square Gardens, can also be used for wedding ceremonies and drinks receptions and we have erected marquees and stretch tents within here a number of times.
