SOMERSET HOUSE
An iconic venue in an enviable location overlooking the Thames. The spaces within the venue range from the small and intimate to a full takeover of the magnificent courtyard. The venue is incredibly versatile and works well for brand launches and activations, receptions, dinners, parties and weddings.
Dinners, up to 340
Receptions, up to 800

Somerset House is such an iconic and beautiful building set right on the River Thames in the heart of London. There are so many incredible options within the venue for events, all varying in size and style. We loveSpring restaurant nestled at the entrance to the Somerset House courtyard, it’s light and airy space making for the perfect canvas for beautiful events. The food by renowned chef, Skye Gyngell has a strong focus on sustainability and seasonality and is really delicious. As you venture further into the venue some of the larger spaces include the Portico Rooms, with it’s double sided terraces overlooking both Edmond J Safra Fountain courtyard on one side and on the other side, the River Thames, the London Eye and up to Parliament. This blank canvas space is great for receptions, dinners and wedding ceremonies. Additionally, the Seamen’s Hall on the ground floor features a lovely black and white marbled floor. For a less traditional look, the Lancaster Rooms and also the East Wing are great for product launches and brand events.
For larger events, the Embankment Galleries which has its own private entrance on Embankment, is great for dinners for up to 340 and receptions for up to 800 guests. Two additional spaces we love are the RiverTerrace – overlooking the river from an elevated position. This temporary structure is brilliant for summer events and receptions. For those looking for more unusual event space, the Lightwells and Deadhouse provide a spooky and very unique option for up to 200 guests. This unconventional space is long and thin and works well for receptions and long table dinners. The space sits underneath Somerset House and very few know about it so a great option to surprise guests. Weddings can be hosted within the venue and hire of the spaces allows for time within the Courtyard for photos in front of the iconic, much loved building. We find that clients booking the spaces love the connection with the arts and culture as well as the fantastic location. The closest stations to the venue are Temple, London Waterloo and Embankment.
