FAQ'S WEDDINGS AT THE V&A

Q: CAN YOU GET MARRIED AT THE V&A?

Yes! And what a place to get married. The venue celebrates art and design and just exudes elegance and creativity. You can hire the venue for your wedding and you can officially get married there as well. It’s an incredible space for a celebration and we couldn’t recommend it enough.

Q: WHAT TIMES CAN I HIRE THE MUSEUM FROM & TO?

The museum is open to the public during the day so your event has to start after the day time visitors have gone. This means that as the doors close at 5.45pm the museum becomes yoursfor the night. However at that point everything, and we mean everything, needs to come in through the front doors. By everything we mean, the kitchen, the chairs, the tables, thetablecloths, every single glass, knife and fork. And that does take time, but we’ve perfected the process and if you can believe it, can have everything ready within an hour.If you’re looking for a venue to party in, then the V&A is perfect as you can stay until 2am (late license permitting).

Q: ARE THERE ANY RESTRICTIONS WITHIN THE SPACE?

There are, but don’t let that put you off. As recommended planners we know the restrictions through and through and they’re there for a reason–to protect the venue and the art. However, the venue team are amazing and absolutely there to ensure you have a wonderful event. For example, you can’t have red wine for receptions in the Dome or the Garden due to the (priceless)floors but you can if you’re having a seated dinner in the Dome or Raphael. So it’s all about thinking through your event–if red wine is a deal breaker, then a seated dinner format is key to ensure you get to enjoy your Malbec. When considering the space, the restrictions can sometimes feel overwhelming but that’s where we come in–to guide you through and ensure your event is planned perfectly to work within the space but still feel perfect for you

Q: IS IT EASY TO HAVE AN EVENT AT THE V&A?

Once you know how, we think so. There’s a lot to consider and the get in is very quick and passes in what feels like 5 minutes but we’re proud to say that we’ve perfected it. The restrictions don’t feel overwhelming to us nor does the tight timeframe for install. We know the space well, what works and what doesn’t and we love, love, love planning and executing events within the V&A.

Q: WHY DO YOU RECOMMEND A WEDDING AT THE V&A?

1. We could talk for days about how much we love the space but at the end of the day we think it comes down to the fact it’s a truly elegant venue. It feels romantic, special and very London. If you’re searching for a unique space to get married in, it really doesn’t get better than this.
