A very special and personal celebration to mark Chinese New Year, the Year of the Rabbit. The event was hosted at the centrally located Unit X Gallery on Hanover Square.

A veryspecial and personal celebration to mark Chinese New Year, the Year of theRabbit. The dinner, for close friends and family, was hosted within the popularart gallery, Unit X. Perfectly located just moments from Oxford Circus, thegallery worked especially well for this event as being laid over two floorsallowed for a separate space for the reception and the dinner.
As guests arrived, they were welcomed and invited into the lower gallery for the reception. Theexhibition on show was by an artist who had depicted walks and scenes, one ofwhich was the favourite walk of our client, which felt very serendipitous! Poseurtables were laid with small floral displays and a bar served welcome drinks andcocktails. As canapés circulated around the space, guest were also invited tomake dumplings to the recipe of the client’s mother, ready to be steamed andserved for the main course later in the evening.
Dinner wascalled and guests made their way to the upper gallery, where a long table waslaid. The table was laid with traditional red and gold tableware with tallblossom tress at the head. To add softness to the colour palette, thetables were laid with a textured blush linen to the floor. Down the centre ofthe long tables, beautifully textured red florals were laid, filling the space.Among them blush and red taper candles flickered adding atmosphere to thespace.
The cutleryfor the evening was gold which perfectly picked out the gold edges of theglassware and the bobbin edged charger plates. The menus sat atop of thesettings also featured a gold ink calligraphy which worked well with thedesign. The water glasses were a pale blush pink and the napkins red bringingtogether all elements of the palette well. The chairs, a gold edged, red diningchair worked well to add some heaviness which grounded the design and added alink to the darker artwork within the gallery at the time.
