Science Museum Illuminates with Moving Venue Partnership

We are delighted to announce that, in early 2019, London will gain a new, much-anticipated, multi-level, dry-hire event space within Kensington’s Science Museum. This fantastic new venue, Illuminate, will satisfy the London Events and Meetings Industry’s demand for a fully dedicated fit-for-purpose space.

What sets this Meetings and Event space apart is the breath-taking view - we believe Illuminate has one of the best panoramic vistas in London. This unique feature on level five will provide stunning views of the City, and bathe participants in an abundance of natural daylight. Light is key to ensuring a productive meeting or conference experience, which is of course reflected in the naming of this unique venue.

What’s in a name?

Ben Lheureux, Head of Catering & Events at the Science Museum Group, says: “We put a lot of thought into the name of our new dedicated events space. We wanted to create something that is not only synonymous with the Science Museum Group and our brand values, but that resonates with the forward-thinking events industry. With our ethos of innovation and inspiring futures, Illuminate will be the ideal platform to host engaging events that encourage new ways of thinking.”

We love how the Science museum have used light as a theme as well as recognising its importance both aesthetically in event spaces, but also to the practicality of ensuring a successful and productive meeting or conference. The name cleverly capitalises on the museums wider branding, its existing references to light and the advancement of knowledge.

Moving Venue win Catering Contract

We are also thrilled to announce that Moving Venue are the preferred caterers of this unique event space. Ben Lheureux, says:

With a wealth of experience catering for special events, Moving Venue were chosen to complement the museum’s ethos of innovation and discovery. They create tailored menus incorporating the latest trends and food styling for the diverse range of events that can be accommodated in Illuminate.

Perfect Partnership

The Science Museum, White Light and Moving Venue collaboration will streamline event packages, ensuring a convenient fit-for-purpose booking process. Situated on Levels four and five of the Science Museum, Illuminate will be available for both daytime and evening hire. Capacity will range from 400 for dinners and conferences, to 450 guests for receptions. Illuminate is the first of its kind in the unique venue industry, and we are very eager to get our hands on the space!
