Amber Lakes wedding shoot

Following on from our exciting news that we are officially the preferred supplier for wedding planning at Amber Lakes, we were presented with the dream brief. Imagine the perfect wedding venue that, as yet, has never hosted a wedding, what would you do with the space? We had the opportunity to let our romantic sides take over and create gorgeous wedding set ups. The venue is distinctive, being surrounded by water, foliage and nature. We worked to create ceremony and wedding breakfast set ups that really complimented the whole venue. 

Unique to Amber Lakes is the pier that stretches out into the lakes, so it seemed natural to set up a blessing here. To make it even more special, we erected a cream and gold star lined cotton pavilion tent by Raj Tent Club. Taking inspiration from the surroundings, the colour palate for the floristry was kept simple with neutral tones and lush greens created by Hybrid Flowers. 

We adorned the tent and highlighted the aisle with flowing displays to give a luxurious rustic feel. Despite being a day time blessing, storm lanterns were added to further highlight a brides’ walk down the aisle.

Whilst we adore a wedding at home, we know the UK is not always blessed with fair weather, so we took advantage of the beautiful lodge to create a light and airy indoor ceremony. In contrast to the warm rich oak wood of the lodge, the bleached bamboo style Camelot chairs complemented perfectly. Again, we highlighted the brides’ arrival with individually flower adorned chairs and storm lanterns. At Golborne we always feel it is important to create a strong focal point for a blessing or ceremony. We achieved this through framing the central windows with soft white draping, supplied by LUX Technical, and two pedestal displays sat high on Perspex plinths to give the flowers the illusion of floating. We think our brides will struggle to choose between these two stunning locations as both have incredible wrap around scenery. 

Following the ceremony, our thoughts turned to the wedding breakfast, whilst guests are outside enjoying a glass of champagne to celebrate, our team turn the indoor space into the most magical dining set up, supplied on this occasion by Alexander and Björck. The real wow factor of the venue is the floor to ceiling panoramic windows which let in so much light and showcase the beautiful location. We therefore opted for classic neutral styling to highlight this. Not wanting to obstruct the breathtaking view, we opted for clear glass vases for all the tall displays, which adds a touch of contemporary elegance. The overall effect was a sophisticated arrangement for an intimate occasion.

We’re often asked to introduce personal and quirky touches to weddings we orchestrate, and Amber Lakes has these in abundance. On site there is an Italian style boat. This comes included in the hire for guests to enjoy and explore the lakes, as well as a perfect photo opportunity for the bride and groom. We couldn’t resist dressing this with cream roses and luscious green foliage to give that special touch. 

Other quirky touches included lining the drive with huge white balloons from Bubblegum Balloons, dressing the entrance awning with a floral archway and filling the venue with as many storm lanterns and candles as we possibly could! 

It is a dream to be the preferred wedding supplier at Amber Lakes and it was a dream to set up a wedding shoot, it’s made us ever more excited for the weddings we have to come!
