A Natural History Museum last

HE'S BACK!

We recently had a catch up at the Natural History Museum event spaces with one of our favourite venue teams. Whilst there we saw the incredible Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition. If you haven't seen this exhibition before we urge you to. It runs until June and is nothing short of incredible. You can book tickets HERE

Whilst drooling over the architecture and grandeur of the building and saying hello to Hope the whale we discovered an exciting fact. This is in fact, a last for the Natural History Museum event space. Dippy, the famous dinosaur who previously resided in Hintze Hall and who left the museum in 2017 is returning for one last appearance.

A CATHEDRAL TO NATURE

Like many you may not have been to the Natural History Museum for some time and you may remember it for sandwiches and school trips. Don't get us wrong, we have some fond memories of that too! Whenever we visit the museum for a site visit we love hearing the cries of wonder from the groups of school children. It really has a magical feel to it. But seriously, the Natural History Museum event spaces are incredible. Standing in Hintze Hall, you can't help but marvel at the architecture. The detail is just amazing. The sheer scale is breathtaking as well. The building was designed as a 'cathedral to nature' and Hintze Hall feels just like that. It's impossible to not marvel at the space and despite having been there numerous times, we catch ourselves standing and staring.

BACK TO DIPPY

As mentioned, Dippy is back. We find that so many of our couples think of the Natural History Museum event space being dominated by this world famous dinosaur. In fact Hintze Hall now houses Hope the whale, suspended from the ceiling no less. Dippy went on tour of the UK in 2017 but is coming back for a short time. From the end of May until December, Dippy will be featured within Waterhouse Gallery and you'll be able to book to have dinner or a reception in the space. There aren't many places you can dine alongside a dinosaur and especially not such a famous one! This is a really unique and different experience for an event and one we know so many clients will jump at the chance to experience.

Looking for inspiration?

We've had the pleasure of delivering a number of events within the Natural History Museum event spaces. We recreated aspects of a Maldives hotel within Hintze hall. This was complete with tropical plants, impressive ice sculptures and a luxury bed photobooth. We also designed a truly memorable wedding with a Harry Potter theme. A Whomping Willow held place names on its branches, magical touches were scattered throughout the food, drinks and table centres and a Quidditch inspired cake took centre stage.
